Bryan Fuller, no stranger to franchise building after his stint as showrunner for Hannibal, has been hired by NBC to do the exact same job for the network’s planned reboot of Amazing Stories. The science fiction/fantasy/horror anthology series ran on the network 1985-1987 and was created by Steven Spielberg, who is involved in the reboot. The series licensed its name from long running science fiction magazine of the same name.
Fuller told Crave “I have had three meetings on Amazing Stories, two of them with Steven Spielberg. So from my experience he is very involved. I’ve pitched him ten stories for episodes and he has approved five of them, and no story moves forward without Mr. Spielberg’s approval.”
