First Look at The Flash

DC Comics is in overdrive now with a plethora of titles coming out. The Flash is a new series to add on The CW this fall, a spinoff of the hit series Arrow, who appears in the new teaser then an extended trailer a few hours later on May 15, 2014.
Based on Barry Allen, the second character known as Flash, which first appeared in Showcase #4 in October 1956. Created by writers Robert Kanigher and John Broome and penciler Carmine Infantino until his death in 1985. After 23 in the netherworld, Allen returned to comics in 2008.
Originally conceived as a backdoor pilot that would air on Arrow, after airing two episodes earlier this season, the powers that be decided to greenlight a standalone pilot that will premiere this fall.
Developed by writer/producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg Geoff Johns, the costumed crime-fighter was struck by lightening from a freak storm caused by a particle accelerator. After spending months in a coma, Allen wakes up with super speed power in the fictional Central City. The meta-human is not the only one with super-powers, some using their new found abilities for evil. Allen hooks up with S.T.A.R Labs and swears to protect the innocent, with only a few close friends and associates that know of his powers.
Former Glee actor Grant Gustin is Barry Allen/The Flash with Jesse L.Martin, Danielle Panabaker, Candice Patton and Tom Cavanagh rounding out the cast. John Wesley Shipp who portrayed Flash in the short run 1990 series will make a guest appearance in the pilot that may be expanded in future episodes.
