The Official DC Comics Cinematic Universe slate until 2020

| On 15, Oct 2014

Warner Bros. worst kept secret of comic book movies has been finally officially announced. Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsuihara revealed a slate of franchise films from DC Comics, Harry Potter and The LEGO Movie for the next six years.

DC Comics is very late in producing a slate of cinematic universe entry’s, with 2013’s Man of Steel , five years after Marvel released Iron Man. The announcements of these nine entry’s guarantees there will five comic book films per year for the foreseeable future, which may or may not cause unwarranted market saturation. It should be noted, the next DC film will not be out until March 2016, almost three years after the prior Man of Steel

The DC Comics Cinematic Universe

Man of Steel (2013)
Director: Zack Snyder
Starring: Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Russell Crowe
*The first entry in DC’s Cinematic Universe, the disjointed story may have suffered due to the rushed production. In 2009, a Federal District Court ruled in favor of the heirs of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel, leading the family to recapture the origin rights. The decision stated that if Warner’s did not begin production on a new Superman film by 2011, the estates of both Siegel’s and co-creator Joe Shuster would be able to sue for lost revenue on an unproduced film.
