Indiana Jones

Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy confirmed in May 2015 that the Indiana Jones franchise will return. “When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it,” said Kennedy.

While promoting his film Bridge of Spies in October 2015, director Steven Spielberg said he would “probably do” a fifth Indiana Jones film with Harrison Ford.

In October 2015, producer Frank Marshall told Total Film: “There are a lot of rumors. We haven’t even sat down to talk about Indy yet… at some point we’ll sit down. But there’s a bunch of people who could probably take the baton. [But we are] not doing the Bond thing where we’re going to call somebody else Indiana Jones… we have to figure this out.”

Disney CEO Bob Iger told Bloomberg in December 2015 that “…Indiana Jones..will be coming.”

Since The Walt Disney Company purchased Lucasfilm in October 2012, the company has been primarily focused on the Star Wars series. When Disney gets around to revisiting the famed archaeologist, chances are it will be either the adventures of Indy’s descendants or a series reboot.
