The Omen

A direct follow-up to the original 1976 film, Damien focused on the Antichrist as an adult. Glen Mazzara, former showrunner for The  Walking Dead is a writer and Executive Producer. This will is Mazzara’s third feature film-to-television franchise. He worked on Starz production of Crash and is currently writing Overloook Hotel, a prequel to Stephen King’s horror classic, The Shining. In late April 2015, the series moved over to the A&E Network.
 
The made-for-TV film was was ordered as a series on August 25, 2014, by Lifetime, but was moved to A&E on April 29, 2015,where it is announced to premiere on March 7, 2016.
 
Bradley James (Merlin) stars as Damien Thorn and Barbara Hershey is Ann Rutlege, who’s sole purpose is to make certain Damien fulfills his destiny. The series also stars Omid Abtahi and Meganlyn Echikunwoke
 
 
Rumors are also running around that Fox and Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is working on their own Omen remake. Platinum Dunes has been heavily involved in the franchise-rebooting business, with subpar remakes of Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Amityville Horror already produced by Bay’s company.
 
The original 1976 film grossed more than $60 million and was followed by two sequels. The fourth entry into the franchise Omen IV: The Awakening was made for TV as was the 1995 TV film, The Omen. The ’95 Fox production was developed as a pilot for a potential series with original director Richard Donner attached as Executive Producer, but the series was not picked up. The franchise was rebooted once again as an NBC miniseries in 2005 starring Bill Pullman called Revelations. The  2006 remake with  Julia Stiles, Liev Schreiber and Seamus Davey-Fitzpatrick achieved modest success.
