The Exorcist

Morgan Creek CEO Jim Robinson has retained the services of investment banking group Houlihan Lokey to sell the domestic rights of the production library of 78 films, including the remake rights to The Exorcist, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Major League,Young Guns and Flying Tigers.

Robinson told Deadline “I’m selling the library strictly for economic reasons. It will go back into the company to fund more production. We have a number of properties that we are looking to move forward on.”

In response, the director of the original 1973 film said in a tweet: “I mention it only in passing, but I don’t believe Morgan Creek has rights to THE ORIGINAL, only the so-called sequels.”

 

TV Series

A new series featured around two men aiding a family experiencing demonic possession, fill be formatted as one-hour episodes written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect, Fantastic Four). Slater, James Robinson and David Robinson will be executive producers on the project for Fox Television with Morgan Creek Productions.
