Yes, you read that right. According to Variety, Samuel L. Jackson is in talks to co-star in yet another franchise in his illustrious career. This time it’s Warner Bros. reboot of Tarzan starring True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard and directed by David Yates from the Harry Potter series. This long gestating project may finally go into production with Jackson’s involvement. This will be the first big screen adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ creation since 1984′s Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes starring Christopher Lambert.
In what was originally Jamie Foxx’s part, Jackson has been interested in the project since the beginning. Jackson is steamrolling toward the record books with most franchise appearances. He resume of over 100 films includes collectively the all-time highest gross of any actor. This feat could not of been accomplished without his involvement in several franchises, including Die Hard, Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Terminator, xXx, the current series of Avenger films and he is also co-starring in the upcoming remake of RoboCop.
