The Hasbro/Marvel/Sunbow Productions (the same team that produced G.I. Joe & Transformers late 80′s cartoon series) will be getting a live-action big-screen treatment thanks to director Jon M. Chu and his loyal crowdsource funding Twitter followers. The Japanese anime company Toei Animation-produced series has completed filming and will hit theaters in the very near future.

A sequel to the remake is in preproduction with Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer writing the script and Breck Eisner set to direct. Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan are set to reprise their roles.
Mad Max

Mad Max: Fury Road takes place during the 5 year gap between the first and second films of the series. Mel Gibson will not be reprising his role of Max Rockatansky, instead leaving it up to new Max, Tom Hardy to face off a post-apocalyptic future of gas hunting punk gangs in the desert. Charlize Theron costars and George Miller returns to direct his fourth Mad Max film.
“Mad Max is caught up with a group of people fleeing across the Wasteland in a War Rig driven by the Imperator Furiosa. This movie is an account of the Road War which follows. It is based on the Word Burgers of the History Men and eyewitness accounts of those who survived,” says Miller.

ScreenwritersShane Black & Fred Dekker are penning a script for 20th Century Fox, which will be a direct sequel to the previous Predator films. Black, who co-starred in the original film and became the first Predator kill will also direct.
Rambo

In a series that started out fighting local law enforcement in Washington state, then returning to Vietnam to rescue POW’s, to fighting Russian troops stationed in Afghanistan and finally going up against the Burmese Army, John Rambo may finally settle down in retirement. Oh wait, the Mexican Drug Cartel! Stallone will return to star and write the screenplay for the fifth Rambo film. On June 24, 2014, Splendid Films released a statement that reads, “With Rambo V, Sylvester Stallone returns in his iconic role. This time he goes up against a Mexican cartel. Stallone describes the new Rambo as his version of No Country for Old Men.”

Remington Steele was a romantic comedy and drama TV series set as a detective procedural and was created by Robert Butler and Michael Gleason an ran on NBC from 1982 to 1987. It is best remembered as launching the career of future James Bond Pierce Brosnan. The new series is being developed as a half-hour sitcom by NBC and will follow the daughter of Remington Steele, Lauren Holt as she reopens the infamous detective agency. Jay Scherick and David Ronn are writing the series spinoff for Executive Producer Heather Petrigala

A prequel to the Steven King novel has been in development for a few years. Glen Mazzara, former showrunner on The Walking Dead wrote a screenplay that will be produced by Laeta Kalagridis, Bradley Fischer and James Vanderbilt. Titled The Overlook Hotel, it’s based on King’s original prologue that was cut from publication, telling the story of the Hotel’s original owner and robber banner Bob T. Watson. Music video director Mark Romanek was in talks to direct earlier this summer.

The fifth feature film installment of the Terminator franchise is both a reboot and the first of a new trilogy of films. Emilia Clarke, (Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones) will play Sarah Conner, the role originated by Linda Hamilton and Jai Courtney will be Kyle Reese, better known as the father of Sarah’s only child and leader of the human rebellion, John Conner. And yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger will portray a grey-haired Terminator. Titled Terminator: Genesys, the film reportedly will be based on a separate timeline that continued with the original sequels.
In December 2013, it was announced that a new television series will go into production, with very close tie-ins with the new trilogy as well as critical moments in the original 1984 film with the series taking a completely different direction.

The 2014 reboot has made $300 million (and counting), so naturally a sequel has been greenlighted by Paramount Pictures with Michael Bay producing and Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec returning to write the screenplay. Be warned, some of the actors have been signed for three films.

We still want to do it with Tom [Cruise] and Paramount are still interested in making it. What Tom tells me is that no matter where he goes in the world, people refer to him as Maverick. It’s something he is excited about so as long as he keeps his enthusiasm hopefully we’ll get it made.”

So I can’t say if and when that would go into production but the fundamental idea of the movie is something I’m very excited about, it delivers on the ideas that we set up in Legacy, especially at the end in the last five minutes, so that one is a work in progress.”

Twins TBD Long gestating at Universal is the sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger/Danny DeVito hit comedy. At one point, the studio announced Triplets with Eddie Murphy co-starring as their long-lost brother. Schwarzenegger has recently stated that Twins 2 is still in development, but the release will have to wait until after he completes his work on Terminator: Genesys.
